W5YI-VEC takes electronic filing one step further: We permit our VE teams to electronically file new (first time licensed) applications to the VEC office. The purpose of this is to get new radio amateurs on-the-air faster. After review and proofing, the application data is filed electronically to the FCC. This greatly reduces the time new amateurs have to wait for their first license grant.
We do not allow VE-to-VEC electronic filing of upgraded license applications since these amateurs may immediately operate using their new privileges on the basis of holding a CSCE issued at your test session.
The exam Session and Application data of first time licensed amateurs are keyed into two forms which reside on this website. These forms are password protected. Any CVE who wishes to file the applications of new amateurs electronically with the W5YI-VEC Office should send an e-mail to W5YI-VEC@w5yi.org. We will review the request based on session volume and history of documentation submission. Upon approval we will forward you instructions and a password so that you may access the VE-to-VEC Electronic Filing web pages.
|NOTE: Participation in the electronic filing program is approved on a discretionary basis depending on time of service and accuracy of session paper documents in normal session filings. Teams are considered to participate in filing of new amateur radio operator applications electronically only upon request and after review of their session filing history.
